Our History and Rewards
2001
Sicily Private Tours, as part of TourOfSicily.com, was born as a collaborative web venture between Chat & Tour and key partners, including Tradizione Turismo – Travel Agent, SDG – Sicily Driver Guide, and Sicily Incentives. Focused on strategically shaping businesses and brands, Chat & Tour quickly became a trusted home-brand that seamlessly connected all associated services.
In its early days, Tour of Sicily established its own in-house Destination Management Company (DMC), dedicated to delivering innovative ideas and research in an engaging and client-centered way. This approach resonated with customers, earning consistent praise and glowing reviews on TripAdvisor since 2012.
As a mark of its commitment to quality, Tour of Sicily obtained its Official License from the Sicilian Tourist Board in April 2001, laying the foundation for its reputation as a trusted leader in Sicilian tourism.

The Birth of Best of Sicily (BOS) and Sicily Concierge (SC)
We introduced BOS – Best of Sicily – and SC – Sicily Concierge – travel departments in collaboration with Louis Mendola, a distinguished American-Sicilian writer and historian.
Louis Mendola, a leading expert on medieval Sicily, is among the few Sicilian scholars whose work has gained international recognition. With extensive research across Italy, Britain, Spain, Germany, France, and the Vatican, he has been a consultant for The History Channel, the BBC, and The New York Times. His widely read online articles have cemented his reputation as one of the most renowned Sicilian historians of our time.

We established a partnership with Discovery Italy LLC, a USA-based company, to promote Italy and Sicily to the American market, expanding our reach and showcasing the beauty of these destinations overseas.
The Launch of BALAGOO
We introduced BALAGOO in collaboration with three other Palermo-based DMCs. BALAGOO specializes in organizing multilingual group day tours from Palermo, featuring scheduled departures year-round and guaranteed services with a minimum of two participants.
